Tom Felton, most famous for his appearance as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movie franchise, has paired up with Envision Racing to take part in Formula E’s exhilarating new event – Evo Sessions

London, [DATE]: Formula E is hosting a never-been-done-before motorsport event at the Miami International Autodrome on 5-6th March, giving celebrities the opportunity to experience the world’s fastest electric race – the Gen3 Evo. Formula E fan and world-renowned actor Tom Felton will be driving for Envision Racing, former World Champions.
Ahead of the event, Tom will undergo intense training, including simulator work and engineering briefings, before taking to the track around Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
During the two-day event, 11 of the world’s most followed and popular personalities will experience the all-new GEN3 Evo race car, which is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in just 1.82 seconds – 30% faster than a current F1 car.
Felton will be coached by Envision Racing driver Sebastien Buemi during his time with the team, as the Swiss veteran provides technical advice and track walk explanations, along with key insights in both pre- and post-session briefings.
Buemi, Formula E drivers’ champion in Season 2 and part of Envision’s world-championship winning team in 2023, is one of the most decorated drivers in modern motorsport – serving as a highly experienced mentor to Felton in this event.
Tom Felton comments: “Nothing could compare to the excitement I have to actually be seated in the driver’s seat of arguably the most exciting vehicle on four wheels on the planet. I know it needs a fifth wheel to steer and I am beyond thrilled to be given the opportunity to do so.
“I’ll play it cool on the day obviously, but my inner 9-year-old self will be screaming with joy the moment I get even close to the Formula E car - let alone get to actually drive one! It’ll be a pinch-myself-dream-come-true moment and I will make the most of every second."
Envision Racing driver, Sebastien Buemi, said: “It’s going to be a really exciting event in Miami, and to see Tom step out of his comfort zone and into my race car is going to be really interesting. I will do my best to coach him and hope that he enjoys the experience.”
The event will take place at the Miami International Autodrome (Hard Rock Stadium) and will build up the excitement in the city ahead of the Miami E-Prix shortly after on 12 April.
Envision Racing is one of the most successful teams in Formula E history, with more podium finishes and championship points to its name than any other team.
Easily identifiable through their striking green livery, the Silverstone-based team won the world championship in Season 9 after a campaign that saw them win four races and finish on the podium a further five times.
